The Age of Whispering (US 0 – ~10,000)

A time of silence and formation, where the world existed in slumber under the stars.

The Veil of First Light (US 0 – ~8,000)

  • In the silent void, Life formed under the watchful stars, shrouded in mist and endless night. The land pulsed with latent energy, untouched and undisturbed.
  • The first mortals, the Sîhvari, emerged from the deep places of the world. Unlike those who would come after, they had no physical form at first—mere whispers of thought drifting through the land. Weaving bodies from the essence of on the water.
  • They learned to channel the world’s energy, giving rise to the First Arcana, the raw, unshaped energy that flowed like rivers beneath the surface. This knowledge was fragile, passed only through whispers in the wind or carved symbols upon stone monoliths known as the Ehlenmir (Silent Stones).
  • As time stretched, new sprites emerged—each adapting to different landscapes, drawing from the echoes of the First Arcana. The Ildravi, the first firebearers, carved homes in the volcanic ridges, while the Mirenai found harmony with the oceans, shaping tides with whispered incantations.

The Sundering Tides (~US 10,000)

  • A great calamity shattered the once-unified lands. The Eldertide, an upheaval of both sea and sky, tore apart the mainland, breaking vast continents into scattered islands. This event became known as the Sundering Tides.
  • The ancient land of Kaeth-Ur, once a beacon of energy, was swallowed by the sea, its source of power lost to the abyss. Its lingering glow beneath the waves, where forgotten force still hum in the deep.
  • In the aftermath, isolation took hold. The Zerahni, who dwelled in the eastern highlands, became mountain keepers, preserving lost knowledge. The Thul’Kai, stranded on the fragmented isles, learned to live in harmony with the shifting tides, becoming master navigators and stormcallers.

Thus, the Age of Whispering came to an end, marking the dawn of new civilizations.

The Age of Awakening (US ~10,000 – ~30,000)

From the remnants of the past, life begins to take shape. Creatures evolve, and the first true races emerge.

  • The Shaping of Kin (~US 12,000 – 20,000): Distinct races form, each adapting to different regions of Ehlingard. Tribes gather, and the first cultural identities take root.
  • Porchãgadon (Later US): Massive creatures stir beneath the earth, emerging to reshape the land in their wake. Mountains rise, rivers shift, and civilizations are erased before they can truly begin. The survivors live in awe and fear, adapting to a world ruled by giants.

The Age of Ephemeral (AS 0 – 2,500)

The rise and fall of great civilizations, the age of forgotten power.

  • The First Empire (~AS 100 – 600): Early nations emerge, wielding the remnants of lost knowledge from the Age of Awakening.
  • The Terror of Lore (Early AS): Mankind has long forgotten the superior abilities some once possessed. Those who still remember are cast out, their knowledge feared and suppressed.
  • The War of Six Crowns (~AS 1,200 – 1,450): Six mighty rulers battle for dominance over the central lands, shaping the political borders for centuries to come.
  • The Blood Shallow (Late AS): The southern civilizations fall to an invasion from a race beyond the sea. Their cities burn, their histories are erased, and those who survive are left wandering in a land no longer theirs.
  • The Last Starfall (~AS 2,300): A celestial event shakes the land, seen as an omen by many. Some civilizations collapse entirely, while others rise from the ashes, forever changed.

  • The Beginning (BS ~200 – ~600): Mankind rises to dominate Ehlingard, establishing powerful kingdoms and empires. They become the most influential and technologically advanced race, wielding powerful magics.
  • All Mighty Sagäruan (BS ~500 – ~600): Humans harness ancient sprites to create powerful constructs—stone golems, enchanted machines, and other relics—cementing their control over the land.
  • The Battle of Embers (BS 628): A mythical circular structure descends upon the northern lands, emitting a strange light that turns creatures into mindless, aggressive monsters. The land becomes cursed, and survivors fight to survive amidst the destruction.
